Luco — the Lizardino with a pyrite rock on his back

The face of the Lizardini

This is Luco.
The rock is
part of him.

One huge eye that misses nothing, a chin with golden stripes and a pyrite rock set into his back. He lives in the Mines, and he was the second Lizardino ever drawn.

All Lizardini belong to the same species, but no two are alike: each has its own eyes, its own colours and its own traits — a volcano, a candle, an onion, a crown. The very first of them all, Ori, is the simplest: the shape every other Lizardino comes from.

The Archipelago

Eleven islands. None of them touch the ground.

The Lizardini live on an archipelago suspended above the clouds. Every island takes its shape from the Lizardini who live there — fire, ice, food, the night sky — and every island has inhabitants still waiting to be revealed.

— every island is waiting for its inhabitants: they're on the drawing table —

The Origin · the heart of the archipelago

The Library
of Chronicles.

At the centre of the archipelago lies the Origin, an island that appears on no map. Inside is a library where every Lizardino has its own page — who it is, where it lives, what it carries on its back.

It is guarded by Candelo, the Keeper: a Lizardino covered in candles, who never sleeps so the stories are never left in the dark. Every page of the binder below comes from here.

Behind the scenes

Before the pixels, the pencil.

Every Lizardino starts in pencil on paper. Then it's brought into the digital world: ink, colour and everything else. These are the sketches, photographed as they are.

— more drawings from the table are on their way —

The origins

The 59 originals

Before anything else, there were these: fifty-nine Lizardini, each drawn by hand, each one different. This is the binder — a new page opens with every reveal.

— covered cards are Lizardini not yet revealed: follow the reveals on social —

The archive

941 variants. Zero copies.

Eight layers — background, body, tail, back, eyes, head, decorations and stars — combined from 225 hand-drawn elements. These are the people born after the Founders: every Lizardino carries pieces of several Founders, and its home is the island of its back. Those born without a back are the Wanderers.

Spot a piece you don't recognise? It belongs to a Founder not yet revealed.

Some you'll meet often. Others almost never.

Not every trait turns up as often: some appear on lots of variants, others on very few. This is how often you'll come across each tier.

Only Legendary and Mythic bodies are covered in little stars — the sign that they shine. If you see one, you're looking at something rare.

Where we're headed

The roadmap

  1. NOW

    The 59 originals

The binder opens one page at a time: every Lizardino revealed with its name, its traits and its island.

  2. NEXT

    The islands

Every island gets its own illustration, with its inhabitants finally at home.

  3. LATER

    Up to you

What comes after — and in what form — we'll decide together with the people who are here from the start.

There's room on the rock.
